Welcome...Come In....Maybe

There isn't snow here....as I write this.  In fact, its like a sad grey fall day on continuous loop.  Very blah and uninspiring.  So, I made some "snow" and can enjoy it this way instead of having to shovel it!

My room box was about 80% finished when I took these pictures.  It's now complete!!! I finished before Christmas.  I will post on that later though.

I cut a hole under the cardboard and put a tealight under the snowman to look like it was a spotlight in the snow!

The wreath was just a strand of that faux pine garland from the miniature scene section at Michaels. I wound it into a wreath and decorated it.  I made a little over-the-door hanger from scrap metal

And In The Daytime....

And The Room Inside....Just Beyond The Door....

  1. Hi Kat! I must say, you have such a Natural Gift for interior design and now it looks like this gift carries over to include the Exterior as well. Love the door and the PROFESSIONAL looking wreath that adorns it and the clever use of the tea light under the snowman. The snow looks to have just fallen, and is not the dirty slush that I've come to dread in Real Life. Don't you just love it when you can add or subtract a dump of snow, at will?
ahhhhh, yes .... in our land of make believe :D

    1. I was laughing to myself as I vacuumed up the fake snow on my floor, if only it was that easy outside!

  2. This is how I like to see snow - in miniature and without the fear of skidding on my arse =0D
Love the scene, love the wreath and especially love the snowman =0)

    1. Thanks Pepper! Shovelling the drive is usually a game of who will fall first, me or miss kitty. Nothing funnier then her on her back like a turtle unable to stand up due to her snow suit. Hehe.

  3. much better to enjoy snow than to shovel it, I totally agree :D. What a great outdoorpart of your roombox Kat and how clever are you for that 'spotlight'? Brilliant! Congrats on finishing before Christmas! I'm looking forward to those photo's, but this was already very enjoyable!

    1. I told my husband, he gets to stand on our roof to put up the Christmas lights while my job is to cut a hole in cardboard and put the led tea light in the hole. I say it's an equal show of effort!

    1. But it's easier to push as stroller (pram) without snow! And let the little ones roam free outside. Though Miss Kitty is asking to build a snowman.

  5. CUTE! I may have to make a trip to Michael's. After Christmas, though, after all the crazy last minute shoppers are off the roads.

There's no snow yet here either...though I'm enjoying it :)

    1. My grass has never looked so green! Snow will be a hard pill to,swallow. Michaels was 70% off Christmas last week. I might have indulged again 😉

  6. I love the color contrast of the door, wall and rocks! It looks like very civilized little people live here, and help to increase property values!
The interior door and wall trim remind me of a wonderful older home that has been lovingly restored! The wall and floor colors were made for each other, too!

    1. Thanks Jodi! That's what I was going for! I love classic homes and details but with modern touches. I'm a sucker for vintage.
