Way Back Throw Back

I might have bought more then a few mini treats for myself as Christmas gifts.  I figured it was the least I could do to help my husband out.

I purchased the retro couch on Ebay in November.  I got into a bit of a bidding war with someone else (sorry if it was you!) and was almost at my max when I won.  Nothing is worse then loosing something in the last few seconds.  So, I walked away and waited 30 mins to check my email.  And I got it!!! It is in desperate need of new material and a paint job.  The metal is really rusted.  The fabric is torn and stained and the cushion is made from what feels like green floral foam that dents with touch.  I will be sad to see the orange-red corduroy go, but its gross and has a smell.

The floor lamp was another gift to myself from Miniatures By Walter via The Little Dollhouse Company. It is a working lamp, but I was too tired to dig out a plug to light it.  Mini fun at 10pm will do that to you.

I`m still on my kit making bonanza bender.  I just finished my first basket weave with success and I ordered some petit point pillows and a rug.  2016 will be a year of mini making skill building.  Or epic failures shared with all!

Where To Buy - Where To Find

  1. Beautifully done Kat!!!! I LOVE your smelly orange retro sofa, and it looks PERFECT for this room. The carpet is a great choice tying the two sides of the room together. In fact, there is not one single element that is out of step inside this space. Every piece of furniture, and all of the accessories are SPOT ON!
Especially the bag of Peak Freans on your Fabulous coffee table...
    ( now your talkin! ) :D

  2. Kat - you have such a great eye for finding great mini things! And remember, when you treat yourself you are also treating all of us, too!
Can't wait to see what you come up with for the sofa fabric!

  3. It is always the details that make or mar a room - RL and mini world - yours are just the bee's knees. It is so lived in and real - shame orange cord is whiffy - no chance of spraying/airing etc to keep it - as it so looks the part and has that lived in look about it. Marilyn

    1. Thanks! I think I must horde items that end up going well together. When I organized the items they had a colour theme

  8. I really like the eclectic style of the room, it all fits so well together! I was looking for your woven basket, why have you only photographed it in the leftforground where it's blurry and can hardly be seen? well? ;) Congrats on that and on winning the bid on that sofa! It's too bad the (smelly) fabric has to go, it looks so perfect for it.. Nothing to do about that, like spraying (not soaking, but enough to make it wet) it with vinegar and then baking soda on that, leave it for a while and get it all of the fabric? I've heard it is a great way for (bad) stains and smells.. And then you might be able to fix the broken seams? Just trying to help, if it really has to go, it has to go ;). I love the rust on it, fits the vintageness of it!

    1. I am torn about the couch! Its still left in its vintage state. Its been aired out and smells normal, but I what really helped was a fabric softner dryer sheet! I`m leaving the fabric as is until I can find something as cool as the current fabric. When it shows itself to me then I will act!! That isn`t my basket....much too nice!! It`s just resin. Mine will be up when i get all my pictures together soon. I promise!
